The Turf We Supply
We source exclusively from Harrowden β three varieties available depending on your garden, soil conditions, and how you intend to use the lawn.

Premium Turf
Harrowden's flagship variety. Dense, deep green, and built to last β a carefully selected blend of cultivars chosen for year-round colour, disease resistance, and visual quality.
Front/rear gardens, new-build plots, full lawn renovations across Norfolk

Shadesman+
Developed for gardens that don't get full sun. Performs well under tree canopy or beside tall fencing. Slow-growing β meaning less mowing through the season.
North-facing plots, gardens shaded by fencing, trees, or buildings

Species Rich Turf
A nature-friendly alternative. Creates an informal, attractive lawn that actively supports pollinators β bees, butterflies, and beneficial insects.
Eco-conscious gardens, informal lawn areas, rural Norfolk properties
Turf and Norfolk Soil β What You Need to Know
Soil conditions across Norfolk vary considerably β and it's worth thinking about before you order. Getting this right means your lawn establishes faster and performs better through its first year.
Sandy & Free-Draining
Sandy soils drain freely β good for turf laying, but you'll need to water more during dry Norfolk summers. Premium turf establishes well here. We'd advise a light soil improver to help water retention in the first few weeks.
Mixed & Variable
The mid-Norfolk belt tends to have more mixed conditions β loam over clay subsoil in many areas. Generally good turf-laying territory. Standard ground preparation will see you right with Premium turf.
Heavier Clay
Many Norwich gardens sit on heavier clay. It holds water well but can become waterlogged in wet winters. Break up compaction and add grit before laying. Shaded clay gardens? Consider Shadesman+.

How Much Turf Do You Need?
Working out your quantity is straightforward. Measure in metres and use this formula β or use our quick calculator.
For irregular shapes, divide the garden into rectangles, calculate each section, and add them together. Always add 5β10% β it's far better to have a little extra than to run short mid-job.
If you're unsure, call us with your rough measurements. We'll help you work it out before you commit to anything.

Yes β we deliver to Norwich and a wide area of Norfolk including Attleborough, Dereham, Thetford, Wymondham, Swaffham, Harleston, Watton, Diss, Brandon, and surrounding areas. Call us to confirm your location is within our delivery area.
We supply three varieties from Harrowden β one of the UK's leading turf growers. Premium (our most popular all-round garden turf), Shadesman+ (shade-tolerant and slow-growing, ideal for darker Norfolk gardens), and Species Rich (a wildflower-friendly, pollinator-supporting alternative). We'll advise on the best variety for your soil type.
Premium turf handles clay well once ground is properly prepared β break up compaction and add grit or sharp sand before laying. If your Norwich garden is also shaded, Shadesman+ is worth considering as it copes better with both low light and heavier soil.
Very fresh. We source from Harrowden, who harvest through the night during summer months and typically deliver within 6 hours of cutting. That's a significant difference from turf sitting in a garden centre β and it shows in how quickly and cleanly the lawn establishes.
Ideally yes β turf should be laid the same day it's delivered, especially in summer. Turf left stacked on a pallet generates heat and deteriorates quickly. If you genuinely can't lay it immediately, keep it in a cool shaded spot and water the rolls.
Both. We supply turf to customers who prefer to lay it themselves, and we also offer a full turf installation service covering ground preparation, levelling, and laying across Norfolk and Norwich. Let us know what you need and we'll quote accordingly.
Yes β we regularly supply trade customers including landscapers, gardeners, building contractors, and developers across Norfolk and Norwich. Call to discuss volumes, availability, and trade pricing.
Yes. All turf we supply from Harrowden is 100% plastic-free, grown on natural organic soil with no synthetic backing whatsoever.
